For the love of God has appeared unto all men. The love of God teaches us the depth and dimensions of his love. At no time has anyone seen the Father, but the Son came and manifested the presence and personality of the Father unto us.

Now, we know the Father and the love he has for us, seeing that while we were yet sinners, Christ came and died for us.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

• John 3:16 KJV

“In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.”

• 1 John 4:9 NKJV

And he came at the perfect time we were so bankrupt and desperately in need of redemption:

“But God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

• Romans 5:7 NKJV

The love of God towards us is marvelous and astonishing in its function. God loves not only the believer who has accepted Christ, but even the unbeliever whom he patiently waits on to make a change and come into the fulness of the experience of his love.

God sent Jesus down into this world full of sin and iniquity. The holy Son of God would have to inhabit a lowly mortal body for over thirty years while preparing the ultimate sacrifice for his Father.

While Jesus is on earth, he is not only getting ready to be sacrificed, but he is preparing the ones who have received him and who would also be our fathers in the gospel. The ways of God are of love and peace, he wants every person to receive him and his love.

Jesus is the Son of God and is also the love of God personified. He is the expression of the depth of God’s love. His love is so real and tangible, and whoever wants to find this love will always find it and enjoy it.

Love is patient and love is kind. The thirteenth chapter of first Corinthians tries to put into words the reality of love. For we know that God is love. [1 John 4:8]

For us to understand love then we must understand God. We must have a comprehensive understanding of his ways and his personality. The ways of God are not the ways of men, his ways are so different from our sin-infested ways. His love is different from the love that the world gives, and if any man truly wants to love his brother and sister, and even sustain the capacity to love an enemy, then the God-kind of love must be his standard.

We deal with the things that we need to learn on this blog. But, not only will we learn these teachings of love and of God, we will also learn to practice as well.

In the book of James, the bible says that the blessings come to those who hear and practice, and not just the hearers. It is good that we continue to learn and grow in the word, but this is not where it ends, for true progress is made in the kingdom when we begin to walk in the light of the knowledge we have gained. [James 1:22]

Here we will fellowship with the brethren. This is a place you can bring the matters of life that are challenging to you and like true believers of the Lord Jesus, in love we shall pray together and also be strengthened by the word of God. The word of God is powerful and is able to deliver.

Jesus said:

“By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

• John 13:35 NKJV

The love we give to another in fellowship is the fulfillment of our expression of love towards the brethren. We cannot say that we love the brethren if we cannot express that love. We must be there for one another, showing each other and all men the love of Christ.

Paul also encourages us to bear each other’s burdens;

“Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.”

• Galatians 6:2 KJV

So, bearing each other’s burdens (being mindful of the things that challenge the brethren) is a fulfilment of the law of Christ, and the law of Christ is that we love one another after we have loved God with our whole being.
